The Lies of the
Enemy
In Numbers
13 we read that the Israelites did not go into the Promised Land
A place that God had prepared for them
A place that was a good land with
streams and pools of water
With springs flowing in the valleys
where wheat and barley were growing
With fig trees, pomegranates, olive
oil and honey
Where the rocks were iron & copper
could be dugout of the hills
And why didn't they go in?
Because most of the spies who were
sent to check it out did not look with faith ... but
looked with fear
They said the people are huge, like
giants, and we felt like grasshopppers
And so they remained in the desert
which was a thirsty and waterless land with venomous snakes and scorpions
And yet we read in Joshua 5 v 1 that
when Joshua finally took them into the land
All the Kings had lost heart and were
paralysed by fear
when they knew the Israelites were
coming
For they had heard of the mighty power
of God
How often do we hold back from where God wants to take us
or don't do what He wants us to do
Because we listen to the lies of the
enemy
And we live from fear rather than
faith?
