Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. James 1 v 17
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and for ever. Heb 13 v 8
Before the mountains were born or you brought forth the earth and the world,
From everlasting to everlasting you are God. Psalm 90 v 22
All these verses tell us of the faithfulness and consistency of God.
We need to be a people who know that God is faithful and consistent in who He is but radical and unpredictable in what He does. So we need to be willing to let go of the need to control our own lives and live in the uncertainty of walking with God and not knowing what He might bring across our pathway at any point. A people who expect the unexpected and are willing to walk freely and lightly in the plans that God has for us. We need to lift ourselves out of the predictable rut of daily routine and live in quiet anticipation of the unexpected from God. Many of God's delightful gifts into our lives or divine appointments go unnoticed for the lack of spiritual eyes that are seeing them - as in 2 Kings 6 v 17 when Elisha and his servant are facing an army - Elisha sees something that his servant doesn't it says - Elisha prayed, "O LORD, open his eyes so that he may see." Then the LORD opened the servant's eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all round Elisha.
Don't be too rational and reasonable in your thinking that you miss out on the hand of God
