Receiving truth

Everything that doesn't come from within us is, in a way, secondary information. What comes to you externally has already been told. But that which is vital and unique is found within you as God gives you personal word.

So how much do we live from secondary information in our Christian walk - living from sermons, you tube, books etc

And how much do we live from fresh revelation, insight and knowledge directly from God.

It's true that we can benefit from what others have experienced and learnt but if we are each walking an individual and personal walk that was planned by God then we need individual and personal revelation from God to live our life in the fullness that God intended.

We are all going on a similar journey from A to B - from birth to eternity.

But in life if someone requires several of us to go from town A to town B we could all go the same route in a straight line.

However the person sending us might want each of us to take a different route so that one passes through a certain place and can give a gift to a certain person. Another passes through a different way and purchases something that is needed. And another goes yet another way to collect a friend to travel with them.
And it's like that for each of us on our journey through life. God has different things for each of us to do, different challenges to shape our character and we need to have direct revelation from Him into our life as well as hearing a general word from others.
