Three phrases that I picked up recently that are worth reflecting on will be shared over the next three posts
1) Beware of - the sin of certainty
God will be what He will be, God will do what He will do
and we can't tie Him down to our preconceived ideas, our expectations,
and we can't tie Him down to our preconceived ideas, our expectations,
our doctrines or theology
He is a creative Being with ways higher than our ways, thoughts higher than our thoughts and we need to be fluid and flexible in our walking with Him.
As with Abraham in Genesis 17:17 when God promises him a son to be his heir.
Abraham's immediate response is rooted in the sin of certainty for he says
"How can this be? I am 100yrs old and Sarah is 90"
He was responding from the sin of certainty rooted in the natural
But ........ God is bigger than that and beyond that and we need to walk and live with an openness in our spirit that is not captive to the "natural" order of things.
