A Difficult Word to Hear - part 2

So ....... what faith did it take for Joseph to believe that Mary was with child by the power of the Holy Spirit and not by a relationship with another man?
It was far beyond all logic or reason that a virgin was with child
by the hand of God but that is what Mary was saying!
But God in His goodness also spoke to Joseph and we read
in Matthew 1:20 that an angel appeared to Joseph in a dream and confirmed that Mary was indeed carrying a child conceived by the plans of God.
Joseph received the word as from God and was willing to be obedient to what he heard and to go ahead with the marriage.
He would have been ridiculed and judged by the people for being willing to stay with a girl with such an unbelievable story!
But he was obedient and was willing to walk by faith in a very trying situation.
And like Mary he would have carried that stigma for many years – the man who was willing to marry the girl who had been unfaithful to him and to bring up the child as his own.
God’s powerful words into our lives,
God’s powerful acts in our lives
don't always fit with the logic or rational thinking of the people around us 

but are we willing to respond with obedience to the hand of God on our lives 

or is the approval from people more important to us?
