Right from the start of "church" there was division between the apostles re: doctrine and values for living

Do all need to be circumcised?

Who can we eat with? only Jews or even Gentiles?

What can we eat?  

All points of issue over which there was disagreement.

Old Testament people of God so readily turned to other gods and idols even after seeing the power of God in the miracles that He did.

New Testament and current people of God so easily turn to the "law" and "leaders" and organised church or temple worship when they were the very things that were evident in the Old Testament but done away with by Jesus.

Those very things that He freed us from have become the "entrapment" of the enemy.

Are you willing to step away from those things and live in the fullness of the freedom Jesus has for you?
