God gets us to that place and then says - it's not what you expected - it's this, but if I .had told you that in the first place I would never have got you here for the purpose I intended
As with Saul in 1 Samuel 9 - he thought he was on a mission to find his father's donkeys but really God wanted to get him to meet Samuel in a certain town so that he could be anointed as king.
Be alert to God's purposes overlapping what you thought were your plans
