The Silent Message 1

Psalm 19 says
The heavens declare the glory of God;
    the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
Day after day they pour forth speech;
    night after night they reveal knowledge.
They have no speech, they use no words;
    no sound is heard from them.
Yet their voice goes out into all the earth,
    their words to the ends of the world.

They have no speech - yet ....... their voice goes out into all the earth.

How easily do we get locked into the idea that communication is generally the spoken word or the written word?
We tend to be creatures of habit, routine and method - but God isn't.
God is creative and dynamic and how much do we miss of what He would say because we don't recognise His mode of communication?

And we miss His "silent" words because we tend to fill our days with noise.

When we are exposed to silence our minds and thoughts expand outwards.
When you empty your mind to stillness it removes the clutter and noise and gives space for God's revelation and creativity from His Spirit.
New horizons emerge beyond the unspoken.
The notes a musician chooses not to play are as meaningful as the notes he does play.
The pause in the music is as much part of the piece as the notes that are played.

Words limit, confine and create boundaries.
We over-use words and God often speaks without words
God is creative and will use many different mediums.
Be alert to fresh ways of "hearing" Him
