Luke 1 v 29 an angel tells Mary that she is "blessed"
And
Luke 1 v 30 an angel tells Mary
that she has found favour with God
Wow!! blessed and favoured
Life looks good for Mary
but ...........
things from our perspective aren't the same as
things from God's perspective
Blessings don't always come in the way we expect
For Mary it first meant -
she had to tell Joseph, who she was to marry,
that she was with child!!
Then
she had to live in her community
with the shame of being pregnant before marriage
and no-one would understand or believe
how she conceived
even if she did tell them
Doesn't look so good now
to have blessing and favour from God
But ......
God's perspective is so different from ours
So don't be surprised if your own blessings
are not quite how you imagined!!
