Heaven to Earth

So why do we think that God's heavenly things
are a copy of earthly things
thereby minimising the truth of what they are
For example - we read of the heavenly Jerusalem
and imagine it as a copy of an earthly city
with an extra glow and extra features
Isn't it more likely that earthly realities
are a shadow of heavenly counterparts
We tend to start with earth and reason up to heaven
When instead - we should start with heaven
and reason down to earth

From Colossians 3
Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things
Set your heart on things above where Christ is seated
