When the Israelites left Egypt they carried great riches with them
Gold, silver etc which their Egyptian neighbours had given them
God's plan for this wealth was for the people to build Him a dwelling place
So He could live in the midst of the people
But in Exodus 32 satan tempts them to use these same riches to build an idol
And they build a golden calf out of the gold
Which they then worship!
How often does satan try and steal the riches God gives us today and use them for his own ends?
How often do we lose what God has invested in us because we have let satan rob us?
And like the Israelites we can end up worshipping the gift not the Giver!!
Satan uses the same strategies today
