The Promises of God

The promises of God are not given

so that we can “do” or “have” to satisfy our flesh

but

so we can “be” found in Him

When satan tempted Jesus in the desert

he tried to entice Him to claim the promises of God

for selfish reasons

and he still uses the same temptation today to cause Christians to seek the promises for the wrong reasons

They are given for His glory

and for His purposes
