We all approach the Bible with certain preconceptions
dependent on our current thinking or doctrine
So …… we read the word and squeeze it to fit our doctrine
which isn’t helpful sometimes if our doctrine is a bit skew
In a similar way
If we do not carry grace and mercy in our hearts
then we will interpret the Word legalistically
to the letter of the law
as the Pharisees did with the woman taken in adultery
whereas Jesus, who carries grace & mercy in His heart,
approached her differently
And so ………..
How many people have been damaged over the years
by a legalistic use of the Word
rather than wrapping it in grace and mercy
before we deliver our judgement
