John 1:17
For the law was given through Moses;
grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.
The law says “Do not ……”
Grace & truth are different
John 2:10
The man said, "Everyone brings out the choice wine first and then the cheaper wine after the guests have had too much to drink; but you have saved the best till now."
When the gusets were already drunk ……
Jesus gave them more wine !!!!
John 2:14-15
In the temple courts he found men selling cattle, sheep and doves, and others sitting at tables exchanging money.
So he made a whip out of cords, and drove all from the temple
A church activity which probably benefitted many people who had no other way of obtaining a sacrifice for their worship
But …….. Jesus saw something deeper in the greed and deception that was going on
Would we close down Church activities today?
Or would we more likely refuse to give more wine to those who were already drunk?
Jesus works from a different basis and we need to connect with Him
We use the law more than we use grace & truth
