So… in 1 Kings 17 there was a widow in desperate need
There had been famine in the land
for a very long time
and she was down to her last portion of food
her very last portion … for her and her boy.
So …..
did God send her a prophet
carrying a gift that would meet her need
a blessing in her darkest hour
Or …….
Did He take her very last portion, her last meal
seeming to worsen what was already a hard time
We know He blessed her later
But ……
At that point when the prophet asked for her last meal
She must have felt severely challenged
and without hope
Often …….
God’s ways – for ourselves or others
are beyond understanding
