Dealing with the Storm

As I watched the seagull in the strong wind
that was blowing that day
I saw how effortlessly it was moving through the sky
as it allowed the storm to carry it.
It rode with the wind
and went where the storm took it
with less effort than when it flew on a quieter day.
If it had sought to do different
it would have had a mighty struggle
but it yielded to the storm
and took advantage of what was there

How different we respond to the winds of life
We often resist and become weary in the struggle
Discouraged as we fight
But we should consider the options…..
and having considered the strength of the storm
we can yield to it, go with it and let it carry you
or

we can choose to seek shelter in the Rock
and wait until it passes

or
like some birds – we can face the wind
and seek to gain altitude
getting ever closer to the Son
