Thoughts from a friend - well daughter actually !!
I was reading Samuel Book 1 chapter 4
the narrative when the Israelites lost a battle
& so they decided they needed the Ark with them to win.
However - the ark came and they still lost
and everyone died (well, Eli's sons did)
so having the ark didn't do anything for them.
And I considered that the ark is what God was 'contained' in
rather than God himself.
They took His container and not God into battle.
We have 'containers'
such as tradition and religion
which we can take into situations/life
and think we are doing it with God
when in reality it's an empty box.
We needto seek God for the battle/life not just assume
that because we are taking what we think is God
that things will happen for us.
