Do I struggle
like a salmon leaping upstream
to take my prayers to God ?

Or do I sit with God
at the source of the stream
and watch the answers flow down ?

God's purpose

God has an eternal plan through the ages and He uses His Kingdom people to outwork that plan in each generation. We each have a part to play. We are not just here to live out our life until we die but we have a purpose within the plan of God. So when we face challenges and tough times in life do we moan and complain and wonder why life is so tough or do we see it as training and preparation for something significant in God’s eternal plan. Why did Jesus send His disciples into the storm on the Sea of Galilee? To teach them to trust Him in every situation of life. When Jesus came to earth He knew what He had come for and He fulfilled His commission In the same way each of us is here for a purpose within God's eternal plan and we need to know what it is so that we can live it And for myself I have this printed on a small card that I keep with me so that I don't forget - I have been sent from heaven to do a work here….. before eventually returning to heaven So …. I need to keep in regular contact with home base I need to refer back to the Head for ….. mission; assignments; on-going instructions for wisdom & knowledge in situations for relationship with Father & spiritual sustenance I’m on a mission from elsewhere & I need to keep in touch and for myself I feel that my personal assignment is ........ From Proverbs 2 My child, listen to what I say, and treasure my instructions. 2 Tune your ears to wisdom, and concentrate on understanding. 3 Cry out for insight, and ask for understanding. 4 Search for them as you would for silver; seek them like hidden treasure and you will gain knowledge of God. 6 For the Lord grants wisdom! For wisdom will enter your heart, and knowledge will fill you with joy These verses really inspire, encourage and motivate me. The idea that wisdom can enter my heart and take up residence there - amazing. But we have to seek it, desire it, search for it and turn our ears in that direction to receive that hidden treasure that God reserves for His people. Those people who take time to search out the riches of God and the deeper revelations that He has for us. We may think we understand some aspect of God's truth and never take time to visit that "truth" again but whatever we know in God whatever we have experienced in God there
