Living by the rule book

Living by rules and regulations
or giving rules & regulations to others
for living the christian life
can lead to a false sense of security
Why?
Because we don't have to listen to the Holy Spirit
but just keep the rules and it seems OK !!
Have a quiet time each morning; pay my tithe
go to church Sunday morning
and cell group in the week
and always be kind to my neighbour
seems to tick all the right boxes !!
But God doesn't want the boxes ticked
God wants relationship - He has plans that we know nothing of
and He wants us to go to Him regularly
To hear from Him where to go next;
how to handle this situation
how to deal with that difficult relationship
He is not predictable in what He does or how He does it
One person is healed by a word; another has spit on his eyes
another needs two touches
another is healed at a distance
and God's ways are still as varied today
because He wants us to keep talking to Him
to keep referring to Him
To do things His way not our way
So build the relationship
and live from fresh manna every day
Not the stale bread of yesterday; last week or last month
God's manna is fresh every day if we will collect it
