Church is not built on one vision that all members are supposed to "buy into" but on each person having their own vision and the sum total of all those visions making the bigger picture for the vision of the group.
This allows each person to hear from God themselves - receive their own vision and direction based on their own giftings and anointings - and so be motivated to outwork it.
Each person free to support a vision or project that witnesses with their spirit not co-erced or pressured into working in areas that they are not anointed for.

Walking with God is supposed to be in company with Him - sharing a yoke that isn't heavy or ill-fitting as we keep in step with the Spirit (Gal 5 v 25)
